This is an active adventure where the yoga, the travel, the nature, the people, the culture, the history, the food and the fun come together to create a life-changing experience. It was designed for all those who wish to escape from a daily routine, deepen their yoga practice and journey into the unexplored parts of the world. Croatia, a small Mediterranean country with a stunning variety of landscapes, is a place where you can make all these dreams come true.
The beautiful Adriatic coastline with more than 1000 islands is just a little part of the diversity that waits to be discovered. Rugged mountains that rise directly from the sea provide shelter for stunning rivers, lakes and waterfalls with clear and turquoise water. Old towns, warm friendly people and rich gastronomy evidence the culture and the history more than 2000 years old. You will have the unique opportunity to hike, kayak and rock climb in scenic locations and enjoy daily practice in the most beautiful yogic spots.
This trip will be led by our experienced local guides and instructors, creating the ideal and safe environment for you to sink into the adventure, discover the best that Croatia has to offer and explore yourself.
ITINERARY
Day 1-4: Dubrovnik surroundings
Our trip starts by meeting in Dubrovnik, a unique UNESCO World Heritage site often called the Pearl of the Adriatic. Settling in one of the quiet surrounding villages allows us to relax in the countryside, let go of all worries and tensions and dive into the peaceful Mediterranean atmosphere.
Each day will start with yoga practice on the terrace of our beautiful villa, followed by relaxation, swimming and walking through breathtaking nature as well as visiting the impressive old town of Dubrovnik. Optional activities for those who are keen on discovering more and being active include sea kayaking around one of the islands and along amazing cliffs, a boat trip to the nearby Mljet Island National Park where you can choose to walk or cycle and wine tasting in the best cellar in the area.
Day 5-7: Brac Island
After our morning practice and thanking the Universe and ourselves for a wonderful experience in the Dubrovnik region, we continue north to our next oasis – Brac Island. We will take an afternoon ferry from Split, but not before visiting the Diocletian's Palace - an imposing Roman ruin with a rich and interesting history dating back to the 4th century, protected by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The lovely island of Brac will enchant you with its incredibly clear sea, pine trees and olive groves. It's an ideal place to rest, breathe and meditate. There will be time for yoga practice in our wonderful and special shala, gentle walks in the countryside, hiking up to Mt Vidova Gora from where you can admire the stunning view over the Dalmatian Islands, swimming on the most famous Croatian beach in Bol (Golden Cape) and trying the famous local olive oil and fresh produce.
Day 8-10: Novigrad village
We will immerge one last time into the sounds and perfumes of Brac Island and slowly head back to the continent again.
The Krka River National Park, which is on the way to our following destination, is one of the most beautiful natural and karst phenomena in Croatia. We will explore it walking by the refreshing waterfalls and experiencing its very rich and diverse living world.
In the late afternoon we reach Novigrad, a place different from what we have seen so far, a little fishermen village situated in a bay at the bottom of majestic Velebit Mountain. We will spend three nights there and enjoy the special energy that the fusion between the mountain and the sea creates. Our daily yoga classes will take place on the beach overlooking the mountain and enjoying the fresh sea air. The rest of the time we will relax in the village, walk up to the 13th century fortress and, if you feel like you are in the mood for an urban vibe, spend one evening in the famous town of Zadar. The Paklenica National Park which is a real hikers' and climbers' paradise due to its amazing rock formations is just a short drive away. For those who love rock climbing, this impressive canyon is definitely the best spot in Croatia to try it (optional).
Day 11-12: Zagreb
Last but not least, today we go deeper into the countryside to find the oldest Croatian National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site – Plitvice. The sequence of 16 turquoise lakes linked together with beautiful waterfalls and travertine pools are surrounded by beech and pine forests and are home to extensive wildlife. After the walk in the Park, we continue to the capital city to spend the last night in a nice hotel with a spa, have a relaxing closing yoga session, exchange experiences, repeat and integrate what we have learned and prepare to say goodbye.
Zagreb is a lively capital with many interesting spots to visit, nice cafes, restaurants and museums. If you have time, we suggest you stay a day or two more to explore it on your own. It's also very well connected to other parts of Croatia and Europe. Feel free to contact us for advice and travel arrangements.
