The forest conceals two saltwater lakes, and you can cycle to them, where, if time allows, a boat ride to a small island on the larger lake offers a chance to visit a historic 13th-century monastery. The Pelješac Peninsula is also one of Croatia’s premier wine-making regions, celebrated for its robust red wines. As we sail past vineyards perched on the peninsula’s steep southern slopes, don’t miss the chance to taste these exquisite wines.
