YOGA RETREAT ON LOPUD ISLAND w/ BECKY & WILF, DUBROVNIK, CROATIA

Lopud Island is the smallest of all Elaphiti Islands with a rich history and outstanding natural beauty. It is easily accessible by boat (1 hour ride from Dubrovnik port). The main attraction of Lopud is that no cars are allowed so there is no traffic and pollution. The water is crystal clear and very safe with no waves or currents, especially at Sunj beach where it is shallow for several meters. There are many well maintained cycling, walking and trekking paths on the island offering guests an ideal location for an active vacation.

The yoga program will be held by Becky Miller (founder of Putu Yoga) and Wilf that prepared a rich yoga program for you to unwind and dive deep into the peaceful island atmosphere. They teach a wide range of styles including hatha, embodied flow, yin, restorative, sacred dance, meditation & more.

Our yoga venue is an over 400 year old stone villa,  located in an elevated position in a quiet area of the old Lopud close to the Monastery and the Rector's palace. It offers panoramic views over the sea and the mountains and it's about 2 to 3 minutes walk from the sea front.

The villa offers 7 bedrooms & 7 bathrooms, heated pool, sauna, terrace, outdoor shower and an outdoor kitchen and eating area. The yoga will take place under a shaded covering by the pool.

There will be plenty of time to rest and explore and you are welcome to do as much or as little as you want. The sea is only a few minutes from the villa, so if you want you can take plenty of daily dips in the sea, chill by the pool, go exploring on a kayak or have fun on a pedal boat. There is also a lovely hike around the island and a beautiful sunset hike up to an old fort which has spectacular views. There are also many other beautiful islands nearby, so we will have the opportunity to do a day trip
to one of these.

Our private chef will be preparing meals for us at the villa and serving healthy delicious vegetarian food from local ingredients.

BECKY

Rebecca Miller started practicing yoga in 2003 when she was 21 years old and the practice soon became a huge part of her life and wellness. Becky completed her first Teacher training in 2009 at the Byron Yoga Centre in Australia. After that Becky continued to travel the world practicing and studying with various teachers  around the world.  Over the years Becky has gained over 1000 hours of teacher training in  Hatha yoga, Vinyasa yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yin yoga, Restorative yoga and yoga for kids. Over the years Becky’s practice and teaching of yoga has transformed and shifted organically. She loves to offer her students the freedom during the practice to find space and nourishment in their bodies, hearts and minds. Becky loves to blend all of the styles she has practiced and studied over the years in to her classes to create yoga  that comes from the heart.

Over the last couple of years Becky spent time living, studying and teaching in the beautiful North Goa India, where she was able to immerse herself in to the lifestyle and culture of life out there.

From Becky’s own life experiences over the years, yoga movement and the practices of meditation, breath work and yoga nidra have been transformational and healing through traumatic and difficult times in her life and she continues to practice yoga on a daily basis in different forms to stay balanced, connected and full.

Becky believes that yoga is a life long journey and she continues to study and read and practice and seek out new teachers to further her knowledge for herself and as a teacher. Becky is currently doing a Woman’s Wellness Teacher training course with Birth Light and will be going on to specialise in yoga and wellness for woman in every part of their cycle.

WILF

Wilf is a yoga teacher from Devon UK where he lives with his lovely lady and little one.

At first, yoga was recommended to him as an alternative exercise to running, which he took seriously at the time.

He eventually completed his teacher training in 2018 at the Bristol School of Yoga and since then he has been teaching various styles including Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow in India and in the UK.

His teaching style is playful yet strong with some challenging balancing poses and inventive transitions.

His classes are open to every level and I learn more in each class I teach about different bodies and different approaches to the practice.

Yoga has helped him with many things through his life and he loves having the opportunity to share this practice with his students.

OPTIONAL TRIPS

DAY ADVENTURE SAILING

Relax on a catamaran as you sail the Adriatic while gentle winds take you among the wonderful Croatian islands, their peaceful and romantic beaches, caves, cliffs and blue sea.

We will sail around two of the most beautiful islands of the Elaphiti Archipelago, well known for its natural beauty: Kolocep and Lopud.

These are some of Croatia’s most beautiful green islands – free of traffic, covered by forests and with lots of sunshine and sandy beaches.

Our one day sailing trip can be as active or as relaxing as you wish.

Your skipper will show you beautiful turquoise hidden spots perfect for swimming, snorkeling and jumping off rocks. You can go kayaking or paddelebording, go for a hike to the fortress on Lopud island or just relax on deck.

No previous sailing experience is necessary.

Kayaks, SUPs and snorkelling gear are available on request at no extra charge.

SIPAN ISLAND - WALKING, CYCLING OR SEA KAYAKING

Sipan is the largest of the Elaphiti Islands next to Lopud, characterised by a picturesque landscape, castles, churches, chapels and monasteries. A road with very little traffic connects two villages. Luka Sipanska at the far end of the island is a charming and romantic fishing village in a bay surrounded with palm trees which we will definitely visit and maybe even take a swim on the beach if we feel like it.

Depending on group preferences we will choose to explore the island on foot, by bike or in a kayak (or combine several activities).

Visit to the local hilltop farm with wonderful olive groves and the most beautiful view of the island is a must!

KOLOCEP ISLAND

Of the 3 main Elafiti islands (along with Lopud and Sipan), Kolocep is the closest to Dubrovnik and the mainland. The two main villages on the island are Gornje (Upper) Celo and Donje (Lower) Celo.

Car-free, it’s a great place for relaxation and taking leisurely walks on the paths that criss-cross the island through its pine forests, before retiring for a few hours on one of the island’s sandy beaches.

Keen swimmers will delight in the island’s crystal clear waters, exploring the coves and sandy bays that have arisen due to the indented nature of the island.

The highlight of the island that we shouldn't miss is the Blue Cave that can be explored by swimming to and in it.

& more optional trips that will be offered on spot!

We invite you to join us on this special retreat with Becky & Wilf,

looking forward to spending time with you on Lopud Island!
