Villa Vale a Pena is a large retreat property just minutes' drive from Carvoeiro, a seaside town on Portugal's Algarve coast — three buildings holding 11 units (16 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms in total), two pools, a hot tub, a poolside lounge and bar, and a dedicated covered yoga tent set in Mediterranean gardens. Its size and layout make it especially well suited to bigger groups and teacher trainings, not just smaller retreats.

The villa offers 11 units across three buildings — 16 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms in total. Five units are two-bedroom suites; in each of those, every bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom except Livia, where the two bedrooms share one bathroom. It's a layout flexible for couples, friends sharing, or a larger group travelling together.

Yoga space

Yoga is practiced in a dedicated open-air tent — a canvas-roofed pavilion with its own wooden deck floor, set apart from the villa in the garden. It's a bright, airy space built specifically for group practice, big enough for a large retreat group to move and rest together.

Carvoeiro & the Algarve

Carvoeiro is a former fishing village on Portugal's southern coast, known for its golden limestone cliffs, hidden coves and turquoise water. It's a compact base with the whole western Algarve within easy reach — sea caves, historic hill towns, and some of Portugal's best coastal walking, all a short drive from the villa.

Shared meals, cooked for your group

Meals at Villa Vale a Pena are served family-style at one long communal table — a mix of Mediterranean dishes drawing on local Algarve produce, from fresh seafood and grilled meats to vegetarian plates, salads and shared appetizers.
