Getting there

The airports to fly into are Pula, Zagreb, Venice and Trieste. We recommend arriving in Pula a couple of days early to get over the jet lag and soak in the Mediterranean atmosphere: visit Pula and its ancient Roman amphitheatre.

We recommend Hotel Brioni Pula. On Day 1, a group transfer from the hotel to the villa at 3:00 PM is included. On the last day, a transfer at 10:00 AM from the villa to any location in Pula is included. All other transfers can be arranged for an extra fee.

Flying into an airport other than Pula? You might consider renting a car at your arrival airport and keeping it for your whole stay in Istria, so you are free to explore the surroundings on your own in your free time.

Read the villa’s story

Recognized around the world and featured in major international productions, Villas Rosa dei Venti has become one of the most famous and in-demand estates in all of Istria.

This is not just a luxury villa—it’s a location with a reputation. Chosen as a key filming site for The Jackal, the Sky Original series starring Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne, the estate became the fictional home of one of the show’s central characters.

Filmed over several weeks, the production brought global attention to the villa’s distinct architecture and sweeping views.

Before that, it served as the backdrop for The Bachelor Netherlands, produced by Warner Bros. The decision to film here was no coincidence—directors and producers are drawn to its cinematic charm, authenticity, and complete privacy.

Word has spread. Today, Villas Rosa dei Venti is known internationally as one of the most exclusive and visually stunning properties on the Adriatic coast. From entrepreneurs and creatives to international guests and production crews, people from across the globe seek it out—for filming, for retreats, for celebrations, and for inspiration.

It’s more than a villa—it’s a destination. A name. A place where unforgettable projects are created and lifelong memories are made.

What guests say about the guitar retreat in Croatia

Hartzell SJuly 2026

We are still enjoying the glow of our trip to Croatia for Henry’s guitar retreat. This was our second retreat with the SuperSimple group in Croatia, and we hope to return again.

The entire experience was beautifully planned, with wonderful hospitality throughout. The guitar sessions were excellent, and as the most beginner of beginners in the group, I learned so much from Henry and from the more advanced players, especially Bob U.

But the week was special for more than just the music. We loved socializing with the other attendees, enjoying the wonderful food, and taking in the magnificent setting on the Adriatic. It was truly a very special time.

WOWZA!~! FANTABULOUS!!~!! Henry and his sidekick Alex will give you a week you will cherish forever. Set in the Adriatic seaside town of Rabac, Croatia - this Villa rests on top of the mountainside where you feel on top of the world. The views to the town and sea below are only the beginning. The 'infinity' pool is crisp and clean. The eight individual suites for the guest are unique and private. The private executive chef team is World Class and provide a wide variety of delicious meals. Pairing these wonderful dishes with amazing wines is really the cherry on top. We had a fantastic day trip to the 'Old Town' of Labin capped off with THE BEST pizza I have ever enjoy (and I have been all around Italy)! The guitar Workshop was killer great. Seeing everyone glow with delight learning new chords, new solo ideas, new songs is such a thrill for me. My Sweetheart Amy thoroughly enjoyed time on her own with new friends from around the world. We will definitely return for another trip in the future.

What an extraordinary experience!!

This week in Croatia, together with Henry, his team, and the other participants, will remain my most beautiful and powerful experience ever!

I met incredible people; the villa is gorgeous and feels just like home; the food is delicious (thank you, Gaya!!); the moments of sharing and laughter are priceless; and having the chance to pick up a guitar at any time of day and play with others is both a joy and a truly enriching experience.

And what a privilege to get advice and special moments with Henry, who has such a passion for sharing his knowledge and love for music, constantly encouraging us to step out of our comfort zone.

You don’t come back the same after such an adventure — you grow as a person, on the inside, and as a guitarist.

Thank you!

If I could give this trip of a lifetime 10 stars I would! Booked 6 months in advance so had lots of time to build up expectations. When you do that you are lucky if the actual trip comes close to meeting those expectations. But everything about this trip EXCEEDED my expectations. I could write a Stephen King size novel about how my guitar skills grew more in one week than could have in a year. I could write more about the beautiful Accommodations, atmosphere, AMAZING 3 meals a day prepared by a private Chef, the bonding that magically happened with all the other players, the list goes on. I brought my husband with me who does not play any musical instrument, yet he felt like a part of the group and had just as much fun as I did and he never picked up a guitar. Everyone there was a different skill level, but it didn’t matter. If someone wants to fast track their guitar skills in a supportive, fun environment where it feels like Magic is happening all around, THIS is it. Can’t wait for the 2026 retreat!!

My wife and I had the great good fortune to join the Boutique Guitar Retreat in Croatia July 21-28, organized and led by our guitar coach, Henry Olsen. Every aspect of the trip was special, including our accommodations at the beautiful private villa, daily gourmet meals crafted by a very special master chef (Gaia Zec), and, of course, fun daily lessons with other enthusiastic guitarists and partners, an awesome group of people. The villa had incredible panoramic sea views, a pool, a hot tub, and beautiful, quiet spaces for relaxation. Henry also organized a day trip to Pula to see the coliseum, a sightseeing visit to the beautiful coastal town of Rovinj, and a wine tasting and pairing. Henry’s energy and passion for the guitar and instruction were infectious, and the workshops were terrific. I especially appreciate his patience with me, a true beginner! The retreat hit every note perfectly, and that view of the Adriatic Sea will stay with us forever. It was, hands-down, one of the best trips we’ve ever taken. Already dreaming of next year. 🍷

Absolutely THE BEST HOLIDAY of our lives!! Henry's energy and passion for music, food, people and life is infectious!!! Lilia had an amazing time seeing the Pula Colosseum, Rovinj and enjoying FIVE STAR meals prepared by our own private Master Chef Gaia Zec. The other students learned a bunch of great guitar and had a BLAST! The villa has an incredible view of the Adriatic Sea. I would HIGHLY recommend visiting this Heaven on Earth creation by Mauricio!
